blessing bags
A fun way to get your school club, scout troop, sports team or other group involved in helping the homeless is to create blessing bags. Have your community group initiate drives to collect the following items:
-
New socks
-
Wet wipes
-
Deodorant
-
toothpaste
-
toothbrush
-
body wash (no bar soap)
-
bug spray
-
chapstick
-
lotion
-
razors
-
talcum powder
-
hand sanitizer
-
hand written notes of encouragement
-
Non-perishable snack (apples sauce; cheese crackers granola bar)
-
bottle of water with flavor packet
Include 5-7 items in a gallon ziplock bag to distribute at Sunday Brunch or to keep in your car to brighten the day of a homeless person in your community.
