Get Involved
Our volunteers and corporate and individual partners are at the core of our success.
In a very short time, Direct HOPE has achieved meaningful success helping Houston’s transition from living in parks, under bridges and in abandoned buildings to obtaining employment and settling into stable living environments.
Our organization is well aware that our role in helping others integrate back into the community represents a small piece of a much larger process.
Without the leadership and support of our volunteers, followers, donors, and individual and corporate sponsors, we would not have the human or financial resources necessary to satisfy the most basic emotional and physical needs of our local indigents who are determined to overcome their current challenges.
So in gratitude to, and in recognition of, small businesses in Houston and across the country and everything that they do for Direct HOPE,
Volunteer
In addition to other opportunities, we have weekly family friendly volunteer opportunities on Sundays from 2:00-3:00 in downtown Houston, Texas. Our Sunday Brunches including serving chef-prepared healthy hot meals along with non-perishables and bottled water. We also take this opportunity to distribute seasonal appropriate items, new socks, toiletries, backpacks and other necessities. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, sign up for volunteer orientation here.
Corporate Partners
We rely on our partnerships to allow us to expand our services that help people build better lives. Your partnership is not just an act of charity, it demonstrates that you or your brand cares enough to get involved at the community level, which will enhance your peer and brand recognition.
Our sponsors names and logos will appear on, among other things, our brochures, signage at Sunday Brunches, and t-shirts for various events. We will also feature you on our social media sites and our website.
Beyond Brunch
Although Direct HOPE began as a feeding group, today the organization focuses on helping people build better lives so that they can get off of the streets and integrate back into the community as productive citizens. In that regard, Direct HOPE has expanded its services to include assistance with resumes, acting as a liaison with potential employers, providing interview appropriate clothing and interview preparation, assistance locating housing which a local design firm will fully install with furniture, accessories and appliances, obtaining healthcare and finding emergency shelters. Once firmly planted in their new lives, our clients join our organization as volunteers and stand on the serving line of the buffet each week.
